Default Mugen 2 on q6600

hello guys
i installed mugen 2 last week and i think i did everything as it should ,
i put a medium sized drop of thermal paste in the middle and felt it
spreading (the fan moved a little to the left and right ).
but i wanna know if my temps are high or not cuz most of the mugen2
owners having real cool cpus.
@ stock speed i get 31 idle and about 50-52 load .
I did intel burn test @ 3.4ghz , vCOre 1.462(i know it a bit high) and
NB voltage 1.37
and idle temps 38 and after the test :

First of all: Please resize your pic. Upload it to imageshack or abload.de and just post a link or thumbnail. Thanks!

Second: I personally think that approx. 70°C with 3,4 Ghz on Q6600 isn't sooo bad. Burn test isn't a real life test and 70 would be accetable anyway - but not for hours, but that won't happen even with hardcore gaming usage.

The stock temps in idle and load also look good. Perhaps there are some slight differences from your system to other users (uneven heatspreader, amount of thermal grease used, different amount of airflow etc.).

The difference in the max temp of your cores could be an indicator for an uneven heatspreader.

Bye Oli

ok that means my installation is good or do i have to reinstall the mugen!?
and the difference between the cores was about the same using the stock cooler.

Well this could still indicate an uneven heatspreader - it was already uneven with the stock cooler then.

From my point of view temps are ok and you should not reinstall the cooler. If you want to improve temps you could think about a push & pull installation with two fans on Mugen. But don't expect too much from it. Perhaps 1-2 degrees in idle and up to 5 in load (my best guess).

If you connect it to a 4-pin PWM socket on your mainbaord you need to set the fan speed in the BIOS (most BIOS' offer silent/medium/performance).

Or you adjust Speedfan correctly. You need to check the advanced options the regulate PWM fans.

Nevertheless if you connect the fan with the supplied 4-pin Molex adapter directly to your PSU it will run full speed (12 V) all the time.
