Hi, Why would you want to change to a new mid range processor?
You cannot use same fittings as for 775 or 1366. Most new mobo`s are in experiment stages. Why Intel decided to change yet again is beyond me.
Here is some good reading before you decide.
Asus P7P55D Evo LGA-1156 Motherboard Preview | eTeknix.com.
I personally will continue with i7 1366 and add as I go along. It is a superb setup, and the Mugen 2 is an excellent cooler if you have the room and the right set up for fans.
cheers

Hi guys,

we bring soon (October, November) the new mounting kit (backplate....) for the Mugen 2. For the new friends, it come a Mugen2 Rev.B with the new mounting kit. I think people who have a Mugen2 can order/buy the new mounting kit by release .

Bye Oki

Is Mugen 2 compatible with EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR?

Does it conflict with the DIMMs?

NOTE: EVGA P55 LE has LGA775 HSF holes!!

I am sorry for my incorrect grammar. The reason is the fact that I am Brazilian and my native language is Portuguese.

My opinion: Thanks to the additional Socket 775 holes Mugen 2 will fit although you cannot use Reaper or Dominator or any modules with high heatspeaders or heatpipes.

Mugen 2 itself only interferes with the RAMs in very very rare occassions but in your case the fan will definitely hang above the RAM slots closest to the socket when the fan is attached as blowing parallel to ATX I/O shield.

You can wait for an answer from Scythe staff to be sure.

I really would like to know too. I'm thinking about buying the Evga p55 FTW. I"m not sure if the chipset heatsinks are going to get in the way. I just want something to tie me over until scythe puts out a 1156 mount for mugen-2
