Default Wire Clip, What is the gauge and alloy mixture proportion)

Hi. I can't find a wire/fan clip for the Mugen/******** here in our country. I'd need to install a thicker 120mm fan (the one with 38mm thickness instead of the normal 25mm one). Would anyone know where to find the kind of wire used? What gauge it is and what is the proportion of the alloy mixture? And what kind of shops usually carry it? The hardwares doesn't seem to have this kind of wire.

I've checked out some wire in the hardware stores here but they seem to be too soft and they're not springy. I think the one Scythe uses has more steel or chrome in it.

I plan to install more than 2 for push pull.

Gbu,
Alvin

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I'm from Las Pinas City, Metro Manila, Philippines. I hope the clips are available here. If it's not, is there any other substitute. Could silicon or rubber mounts or plastic push pin mounting ones be possible? Gbu.

ohh, that would be difficult. so maybe you can try it via a rubber strap, i use this method also for myself, its easy.

Hi. Where did you buy the rubber strap and what size? (what is a rubber strap originally used for btw). Could you direct me to a photo if you have? I'm thinking of soldering two nickel coated paper clips together. It's not as rigid as Scythe's clip but it's springy and it's almost if not the same thickness. The danger is, it might break where the solder was made at some point and hit the fan blades (it'll break a fin at that speed) and the board circuits and cause a short. Any future official distributors of Scythe here in the Philippines- I'd like to suggest for Scythe to come here.

Default rubber deteriorates in months even without heat or stretching!

I don't understand, even without any heat or stretching, a typical rubber band will deteriorate and crumble. That is, in North America, I buy my broccoli which has thick rubber bands on them to hold the stalks together. They crumble within months when put around my kitchen sink spout for harmless storage.

What composition are you talking about that might be special about this rubber?

(Copper)-Nickel-Titanium or Stainless Steel is what they would be made of if you were to use orthodontic wire as a comparison (that's overkill), e.g..

Orthodontic wire - Patent 6132209

Just google 'orthodontic wire composition' (I realize this is silly)

I used to bend wire to fit the front teeth (no one else I knew could do this correctly) so with a few pliers, you could go to the hardware store and make them yourself.

Default Wire Clip

I used .047 music wire so I could run a 120 on the "side" and a 90 MM fan on the end.

BTW, I have found that going to 38mm fans (80, 90, 120,) is really noisy. The 120 Sythe @ 74 CFM is GREAT!!! even with a Mugen I.
