Default Compatibility - GA-P35 & Stacker 832?

Hi,

Just want to check whether Mugen will fit the following:
1) Gigabyte P35-DS3R
2) Stacker 832

1st, GA-P35-DS3R. Will the bottom fins clear the top of north bridge heat sink with room to mount a 40mm fan? I suspect I don't have enough clearance.

2nd, if the Mugen is mounted on the P35 mobo and in the Stacker 832, is there room to close the side fan tray?

Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Hi ckboon,

1. The Mugen has 37mm between base to first fin layer. Maybe you can find the domension of the Gigabyte P35-DS3R, IO'm not sure if this is enough.
Further info

2. I can't really help when it comes to PC Case, that is more difficult, check the inside dimensions, then you can calculate.

Greetings,
Andy

Hi Andy,

I just installed the ******** (S'pore doesn't have the new package yet ) onto my P35-DS3R & Stacker 832.

Good news is that the bottom fin cleared the stock northbridge heatsink with more than enough space to mount a 40mm fan. Maybe 2mm-ish is left, between the 40mm fan and bottom fin of the ********. The best part I don't have to change the northbridge heatsink!

Looking at the side fan tray into the case, the top left quadrant is where the ******** will be. The frame will not touch any part of the ******** but there is no space for the fan bracket or fan.

Hope this helps.

BTW, the mounting system is a big pain!

Hi ckboon,
I installed the Mugen onto my GA-P35-DS3R using the Retention Kit from Scythe. It was a very easy install. Luckily, I didn't have to use the spacer. I don't really trust the push-pin method, so I didn't even try that. Maybe future Scythe coolers could make use of the Retention Kit without having the need for the spacer on some boards, and maybe future Scythe coolers could have the Retention Kit in the package with them (hint, hint ).

I am also using the CoolerMaster Stacker (original version , from 2004), and I had to remove the fan holder mounted in the left side of the case to close the case, but I didn't use that one either (80mm fan for such a big round hole... kinda pathetic ).

Hey everyone.

I keep repeating myself...we are working on improving the mounting mechanism. I hope that it was not too difficult and annoying. ^^

Greetings
