Question Questions

First Hi from Greece
My name is Dionysis and I want to ask 2 questions

A) After installed MINE to my P4 processor at 3.2 with load at 72%-84% temperature is quite high (64 C).
Is that normal or I shall try to reapply the thermal paste
b) Soon I will upgrade to a dual core processor will the MINE manage to keep things cool at hot summer temperature with an upgrade to the fan and what 120 fan do you recommend with better air flow and quite silent.

Case heroichi midi
2x120 fans
Msi 8600gt

Hi Dionysis and welcome to our forum.

The Mine is basically good for every 130W Processor. The temperature should be lower if you talk about a non-Prescott P4. There might be a couple reasons for the higher temperature.
1. Did you remove the blue/white foil from the base of Mine Cooler?
2. How warm is it inside your case?
3. Remount the Cooler

@b) Yeah, it is compatible and works fine with Dual and Quad Cores for around 130W.

Greets,
Andy

Yes the foil is removed LOL
Yes it is a Prescott
Internal 39 remote 39 with speed fan 4.33
As soon I will receive the thermal paste I will do the repositioning.
One scythe fan 120mm 1600rpm is coming also for my case.
If I want to do an upgrade to the fan what scythe fan would you recommend?

aw if you dont mind noise, i'd recommend 120x120x38 mm fan that scythe came out with.
DFS123812-3000 is the model name.
Jesus one of these is all you need xD

If you're looking for a quality and quiet fans.. i'd stick with the S-Flex fans.

reifen: If the foil is off, that is good. Sometimes you can simply forget this, it happens.

As for the Temperature, I would really redo the mounting part, even it is a Prescott, it could be lower. One reason might be a high ambient temperature. Open the sidepanel while you are loading and monitoring the temperatures, to see if the temps go down after you opened the side panel of the case.

The new case fans dropped the temperature from 64 C to 61 C max.
With the new installation (less thermal paste) of the cooler the temperatures are 42C idle and 55-56 after 5 min in full load with internal temperature of 38.

Hi,

that is already going to the right direction. I would call this an accaptble temp. Maybe other won't but you acchieve silence and you don't plan to overclock based on what I understand. So that should be good for daily work =D
