I didn't have the heart to get rid of my Orochi rev. A when I went from s775 to s1366, so I finally bought the non-vtms fixation clips which although don't officially support this socket, "should" hold the orochi.
I wasn't very satisfied with the temperatures tho, around 48° at idle and over 80° on OCCT load. Since the same orochi performed very well on my E8500 I thought one of the pushpins must have been displaced. Thus I checked out and all pins were correctly inserted. ...I had heard some people had problems with excessively concave Intel processor, so I thought maybe the contact was bad and I removed the orochi to give it a go and I saw....THAT: ![]() Of course on the CPU (i7 920) it was the same: ![]() I checked the straightness of the CPU: ![]() And the one of the orochi: ![]() I had made a picture when I first removed the box heatsink (I intended to make a tutorial) and as one can see it fits well. ![]() The problem must come from the SCCL4 (aka non-vtms) mounting clips. I was very lucky not to fry my CPU on this one, the contact was really minimal. DO NOT USE THESE CLIPS with an orochi. I had to go back with the box heatsink, and my beloved orochi is now useless

Hi John Venture,
That didn't go well, I see. Too bad actually, but this is about the Push Pins and some decent mounting of Orochi. Where are you from? We might be able to arrange you the Orochi Rev. B clips, which fit on the A perfectly, but this might cost a bit due to shipment and material cost. If you like, just send me a private message and we can see what we can do =)
