Default Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B / mobo & case perimeter clearance?

I'm about a day or two away from putting in orders for a new PC, and have pretty much all components locked down. The only unresolved issue, however, is making sure that the CPU fan I select will not obstruct any other components -- or extend too far beyond the ITX motherboard edges.

The motherboard I have selected is the ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX, which has its CPU socket more near the edge of the board -- making room a bit of a topic of concern for others in some forum posts I have read through.

The case is a Silverstone MILO 08, which is a really slim ITX case, which I'm assuming doesn't give much clearance beyond the board itself.

Is there any confirmation, for or against, that anyone can give me in regards to using the Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B in this scenario?
I'm open to other fan recommendations as well, though it would need to cool a Skylake i7 processor...and of course the quieter the better.

Thank you for your help, everyone!

John

Hello johnb4467,

the Silverstone case allows only CPU coolers with maximum height of 58mm. The Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B have this height. So it should works. Please remember to use low profile memories. There is only 33mm (better 30mm) space for memory.
I don't found a (clearly) picture of the backside from the Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac. In the most cases have ITX motherboards electrical components on the backside which can collision with the back plate of the Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B mounting back plate (it must happens but can).

How do you like to use the PC with this components - for gaming / as HTPC / for office work?

Hi, and thank you for starting to answer my questions.
Yes, my main concern is it fitting with everything around it. I did not think of the back plate though -- so I will have to look at this.

I teach college in the visual effects & motion graphics industry, so there are times where the CPU will be rendering away at 100% for 24hrs+. That is not the day-to-day use, but has definitely happened a number of times. Other times it will be used just for lighter work or, of course...some games.

If you have any other fan recommendations, or overall advice -- please do let me know. Thank you again for your help!

In this case I would recommend another PC case with more space. (for example) The low space for air flow in combination with gaming setting and no case fans (Silverstone MILO 08) isn't to recommend.
