Default Gigabyte ga-ep43-ud3l

Compatible with the board.

Note:
1. With midi-tower there is no acces to the ATX_12V connector, and it must be connected before the board is placed in the case.
2. If the fan is mounted on the long side it has to be removed to access memory slots 1 & 3, and nenory with high-profile heat sink cannot be used in dual channel mode.

I can confirm that this cooler is compatible with Asus A8N-SLI Premium (socket 939), as long as you don't have higher than normal ram sticks.

Hi,

@ Chike

Can you explain to my why you mount the Slip Stream on the cooler against the normal airflow? I think you should turn it around for better performance.

The Mugen 2 works just fine on the MSI x58 Platinum SLI.

The fan had to be mounted on the outside side of the motherboard because it was interfering with x58 cooler. This was fine as there was a vent on the top side of the case. (The case had the power supply on the bottom instead of on top)

Good eye!
Mistake LOL silly me, I have realized that when I later reoppened the case and felt the air flows in the wrong direction. Must have done it when I was messing with the memory.
I turned it to be mounted as it should be, didn't have any noticeable difference with CPU temperature though. It did however lowered motherboard and PSU temps, which is a good reason enough to mount it properly.
I can try and take new pictures with it mounted properly if you think it's nesessary. Or add a comment about it in the post.

I must say, the retention kit is very difficult, I don't understand how am I supposed to screw the screws from below after mounting the HS on the CPU. Took me quite some time to build a construction to make it possible. I suspect this caused the TIM not to spread even, but being a bit disabled I dare not take it off again.
Other than that I am happy with it.

@ sexyfingaz / cooljef

Will fit without problems.

@ Chike

no need for new pics.

about installation: if you do it outside the PC its very easy what i think. put the Mugen 2 on a table (stand on head), balance the motherboard with one hand and screw/fix it with the other. Then its a work that can be done in 5 minutes.

Of course everything was done outside the PC, there is no other way.
I have tried that dry (no paste), and I could not align the holes (I am a bit visually impaired as I mentioned,) and even if I could I wouldn't be able to lower it so the paste would spread equally ( I followed Arctic Silver 5 instructions.) It must be done from above to do it properly.
I only mentioned it as improvment suggestion, and it is only my personal oppinion, it may increase cost by a buck or two, but this is not a problem as it is very fairly priced already.
