I don't see any chance for Reapers with 4 modules. At least the RAM slot closest to the socket won't take such high modules probably both blue slots will be blocked for high heatspreaders/heatpipes on the RAMs.

hi,

your right oli, but maybe there is enough space when the fan is use in sucking mode on the other side in the Mugen 2. That results in a little bit less performance but maybe with this installation there is enough space. But thats a thing you have to try on your own.

cheers chris

sumo is right - of course you can any time mount the fan on one of the other sides of Mugen 2 and try a pull setup or use the new Slip Stream Slim fans to gather a few millimeters more space (although I am afraid in this case this would only ensure that the second slot is cleared but I'd still have doubts concerning the first one - and the Slims aren't available as PWM atm).

I just ordered a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 and i had in mind to get a Scythe Mugen 2 to cool my i7 920. Is there any known issue with this board and the Mugen 2 cooler, maybe blocking some ram slots? Ram heatsinks are tall -> Corsair Dominator ....

Some slots will be blocked.

Pics of your board with Mugen 2 installed

Also see the 2-3 posts above yours for possibilities what to do when slots are blocked.

Thank you for your fast reply.

Maybe i should consider changing my order (if i hurry) to a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 ? Maybe there is more space and no RAM slots blocked ?

Well, I am afraid that there aren't many mainboards where all slots are clear when Mugen 2 is used. It was easier with Mugen 1 but dimensions changed a bit. So the standard push setup for the fan is difficult with high ram modules.

Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, 790FX (dual PC3-10667U DDR3) Preisvergleich bei Geizhals.at Deutschland
Und hier das MSI 790FX-GD70:
MSI 790FX-GD70, 790FX (dual PC3-10667U DDR3) (7577-010R) Preisvergleich bei Geizhals.at Deutschland

Hier mal ein Vergleich, den ich schnell mit GIMP erstellt habe:

Vielen Dank im Vorraus für eine Antwort.
--------------------------

I will try to write the same post in English again, sorry if it's very bad.

Please let me ask a question about the compatibility of the Mugen 2 and the MSI 790FX-GD70.
Here a picture again. It was posted some pages below: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7222/mgd7003qf6.jpg

Aren't nearly all AM3 boards designed by the same basic layout? I think the position of the RAM to the CPU socket are the same.

Here again a pic of another AM3 board where the Mugen 2 fits on: http://www.scythe-eu.com/forum/mainb....html#post6364

Do you think I can install the Mugen2 or can there be problems with compatibility?
Is there enough place under the cooling fins if I use RAM without heatspreader or with very low ones?

Here again a "from the top picture" of the MA790FXT-UD5P, where the Mugen shluld fit:
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, 790FX (dual PC3-10667U DDR3) Preisvergleich bei Geizhals.at Deutschland
And here one of the MSI 790FX-GD70:
MSI 790FX-GD70, 790FX (dual PC3-10667U DDR3) (7577-010R) Preisvergleich bei Geizhals.at Deutschland

Here I have compared the two mainboard in GIMP.

Thank you very much. Please don't kill me because my terrible English.

Hi,

Cheers chris

Does the mugen 2 fit on a Gigabyte P31-DS3L ?
GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-EP31-DS3L (rev. 1.0)

I'm worried about the nortbridge heatsink being to high.
