Also , Is it that heavy ... Looks like 870g very heavy and could damage the MoB , any comment ?

There's not much clearance, but the fan should work fine over normal height RAM. The Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5 is a sturdy motherboard, so I'm not concerned about the weight. I.e. there was no flexing in the motherboard even before I had it screwed down.

Please note that I'm just a satisfied customer. I don't officially represent Scythe, so I can't make any guarantees. I'm just reporting what worked for me.

Hi,
a couple of days ago I asked if the Mugen 2 will fit on a gigabyte board. But now I have desided to buy the Asus P7P55D.
Will the Mugen 2 fit on that board?
I want to install the fan on the cooler as shown on the mugen page Mugen 2 Rev. B: Scythe EU GmbH and blowing towards to the rear fans of my case (not towards the psu).
I wonder if the graphic card in the first PEG-slot will collide with the mugen 2.

Thanks in advance
Cunhell

Question Mugen 2 Rev B with 790FX-GD70 and Corsair Dom GT

Hello I have a question in relation to motherboard compatibility of the Mugen 2 Rev B in addition to memory being used...

I am going to build me a good AM3 system.
It will use the MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard and I will probably use the Corsair Dominator GT 2x 2GB 1600MHz CL7 Kit (CMG4GX3M2B1600C7) with it.

Now I have read on Corsair webpage that they are 2" / 52 mm tall
Will the Mugen 2 Rev B fit in this scenario?
In which RAM slots should I then mount the memory perhaps?

Pic added of the MSI 790FX-GD70 mobo

Cool Mugen 2 Rev. B fits to MSI 790FX-GD70

Hi everybody,

I`ve bought the MSI 790FX-GD70 Mainboard with AMD`s Phenom II X4 965 BE and G-Skill`s Eco DD3-DIMM (F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO) (Link: G.Skill ECO DIMM Kit 4GB PC3-12800U CL7-8-7-24 (DDR3-1600) (F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO) Preisvergleich bei Geizhals.at Deutschland ). One DIMM is ~4,3 cm high and fits as well as works perfectly together with all components!

I know, that the compatiblity to the MSI 790FX-GD70 is already confirmed (with low dimension DIMMs), but I wanted to support other users and help out configuring their AMD system.

Cheers and great work Scythe!

Post Re: MSI 785G-E53 compatibility

Hi Amaslov,

it seems, that the MSI 785G-E53 has the same layout as my board (see to picture from "mindwarper" one post above yours).

You have to be careful with high dimension DDR3-DIMM`s, but it should fit without any probs.

NOTE: That is only my personal impression, coming up from these forum pictures!

Cheers

Default Asus M4A785-M

Mugen 2 rev.B is compatible with Asus M4A785-M with plenty of space around it. Just be careful how you position the backplate as it could touch two soldered pins. When moved as far from them as possible there is safe 1mm gap from them.

Its a great cooler
