are there any reports so far about (successfully) mounting the "MUGEN 2" to a "MSI P35 NEO2 FR/FIR" board?

If not, i'll try to measure it off on that board tonight.

Do you mean that it could get very close to the RAM-Banks or the NB-Cooler?

I think i'll give it a try and post my results with it.
