Hi,

I have a MSI 865PE Neo2-P Platinum Edition motherboard with all of the RAM slots filled - would the Ninja-Plus Rev B be okay with this?

Thanks!

There we go, another page filled XD

scholsey: Yep, the RAM is pretty far away but Ninja Plus is usually covering the ram, as it is taller. So in your case, if you have normal RAM w/o crazy heatpipe coolers, this should be fine. Rest also looks safe.

chmavr: Thanks for helping and confirming =)

Default Asus P5W64 WS Pro

Case: Antec Solo mini tower
Case fan: 1 x Nexus 120mm @ ~740 RPM.
Motherboard: Asus P5W64 WS Pro
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Processor heatsink: Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B. Passively configured -- no fan.
Heatsink bolt kit: Thermalright LGA775 Bolt-Thru-Kit
Thermal material remover: ArctiClean Surface Purifier
Thermal compound: Arctic Silver 5 Premium
Video card: 2 x XFX GeForce 7600GS 2xDVI fanless
Memory: Corsair 2x1GB
Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar 250GB
Optical drive: Samsung DVD±RW DL 20x SATA
Power supply: Corsair HX520W
Monitors: 3 x Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC 24-inch
Other fans: None, except for the one inside the power supply.

This setup is virtually silent.

Ninja fits perfectly well on this motherboard / case combination.

Highly Recommend the Thermalright bolt-thru kit. It is far better than the stock push pins. Low cost for a high benefit.

It is important to exactly follow the Arctic Silver directions for cleaning the CPU surface and applying their compound.

Temperature profile:
Load: Idle
Ambient: 21C
Core0: 30C
Core1: 30C

Talking Ninja Plus rev B on MSI K9N Neo V3 motherboard - result

Hi,

I just installed the Ninja Plus rev 3 on my MSI K9N Neo V3 motherboard (in an antec P182 case).

The coler fits perfectly. It does reach over the two left most dimm slots, but the cooler is high enough so that, if you put dimms in that slot, you still have a good 1cm clearance.

Of course, dimms with large heat fins on them probably wont fit.

I took some pictures (with my not so good phone camera) and put them online:

Index of /Ninja

Do note I am using the Ninja in fanless mode, but there would be no problem to add the fan to the cooler if it is needed.

If you want any other info, please pm me since I am not a regular visitor on this forum.

wkr,

Jhon

Thumbs up XFX NForce 680i SLI

Fits fine, with few installation process pointers.

Notes:
- Covers up the first RAM slot (slot 0, the one you usually never change ram to anyway). But install RAM (to slot nearest to CPU) before Ninja. Might cause problems if using RAM with huge cooling systems on them, ones that them much "higher" than standard size RAM sticks.
- Install the optional chipset fan before Ninja (and graphics card) if you're going to use it. It is possible afterwards, but you'll have very little room to operate, and it has tiny screws.
- IF you're using NZXT Zero case with four sidepanel fans, you might want to consider not installing Ninja's fan. You most likely will not need it. If you do want it however, make sure the attaching metal "wires" and the fan itself do not touch memory modules OR case's sidepanel fans (very little room).

Hi,

ELW: Thanks for the info, I updated the list. You might want to mention the full Load temperature, as it is the most important.

Jhon: Thanks for supplying the info and reporting the compatibility. Glad to hear that your system does run fanless. The pictures are also very useful, thanks.

Aino: Also big thanks to you. I have added the Mobo to the compatibility list.

kyo: Yep, the DFI Lanparty DK P35 Version should be fine. 88% compatibility chance. Please do not hotlink images! Thanks

Hi!

I'm currently using a Scythe Samurai Z on a Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 and with my new case I think about upgrading to Ninja Plus

Is this Mobo compatible? My concern is that the capacitors could colide with the Heatpipes (in the lower left corner):

And the RAM Slots are also very tight to the CPU Socket, could that also be a problem or should it work? I have all four RAM Slots in use at the time.

Thanks for your help
