Default Missing: Ninja 2 Compatibility List

I did not find any thread about the Ninja 2 compatibility. Has it been forgotten or ist somewhere else a list like that?

I can make the start with my MSI P35 Neo-F. The Ninja 2 is mounted using the Scythe Universal Retention Kit (it seems to be one of the last ones that have been sold) and I did not use the copper plate that came with the kit.

Temperatures are fine, there is just one capacitor very close to the mounting bridge - that one close to the upper right hole on this picture:

But everything works fine, there is a small space between the spring of the socket 478 mounting and the parts on the mainboard:

And: Enough space between the RAM and the fan:

Okay, unfortunately they are not in the airflow due to that position on the MSI P35 Neo-F.

More pictures and text (in german language) can be found here

Greetings, Martin

Hello X-fish.

Good idea I was also looking for the compatibility list of ninja2

Could you please measure the distance from the motherboard pcb to the bottom of the wire clip that holds the fan? I see your ram is really close to the fan. Or if you could measure the height of your ram dimm that's just below the fan, that would also help me. As you will have guessed I am trying to figure out if my ram dimms will fit. Only thing I have passive heatsinks...

If you could also measure the distance of the bottom fin to the motherboard pcb, it would be great. Hope you don't get into too much trouble with that slide calliper

thnx in advance!!

I really would like to help, but I already have sold the combo to a friend. The system I use right now has a Kama Angle on top. But: It ist still the same Motherboard.

I am using G.Skill RAM right now:

I think (!) it was possible to mount those below the Ninja 2 as well (had them inside the old system for a short test, but I am not sure what fan was mounted).

On the other hand: Simply put the springs that hold the fan through one of the metal plates (grill?) and the fan will be a little bit higher.

wow! that was the fastest reply ever! I guess you have email notification

The thing you said about installing the springs between the heatsink fins is quite interesting. Could you please measure the width of these ram dimms? (whenever you find some time). I use ocz ram. Haven't bought the cooler yet, but I am seriously considering it. That's why I asked.

thnx again, bye!

No, it was prediction 3rd grade.

Quick measurement: ~38 mm height, measured from the PCB to the top of the heatsink of the G.Skill RAM.

Compatible with MSI P4N-SLI FI

ok, a quick follow up. Bought the cooler, it fits the above mentioned mobo ok. Note that the northbridge fan for the P4N-SLI FI has a fan guard about 2mm thick, but as you see in the following pic, it will fit ok. I removed it to install my previous cpu cooler a few years ago and I seem to have misplaced it Anyway it will fit ok.

It leaves a tiny gap between both ram dimms, small enough for a piece of paper to slide through. That means they don't contact each other.

You can add the "Asus m4a77td pro" to the compatibility list of the Ninja 2 Rev. B.

I have it mounted on an AMD Athlon X2 250 cpu, without fan. I do use the included Scythe fan as a replacement for the standard Antec exhaust fan in my Sonata III case.
