Katana 2 works fine on a Gigabyte P35-DS3 with the Universal ret. Kit.
There is just a little contact, but nothing bent or so. I attached a picture of it. I assembled the Katana 2 with the "loose" hooks on the side "to chassis back" - maybe there's no touch vice versa, I don't know. |

Sorry for the double post but I just can't help it, as I'm willing to place my order as soon as possible.
Could you pretty please let me know if the Mugen is compatible with this board ( Asus M3A ) and if there's enough space considering the memory ( OCZ Reaper HPC Edition ) below: Just in case it wouldn't fit, does any other Scythe cooler work on the board then? ![]() ![]() |

Hey there,
i just wanted to say that the scythe ninja mini works well with the asus m2n32 SLI Deluxe mainboard except of one RAM bracket is no longer usable or the module would have contact with the cooler. also the adjustment of the brackets to hook the cooler up on the retention bracket is 1 step to high so you have to put them in the middle slot to have the optimum height so the cooler holds perfectly €: and sorry my english is not the best but i hope you know what i want to say ![]() for a better understanding here is the picture which parts i mean ![]() |

Hi there.
Time to post some replies =) Herb74: Thanks for your help. The link is set as well. Thanks for the help! Slicer: ASUS P5E should be fine with Ninja Cu, as it seem to work even with normal Ninja. fr7: Mugen should be compatibile to the Asus M3A. The RAM from OCZ might not fit with Mugen when you put them to the slots close to the socket. But in worst case you can switch them to the other 2 slots. skuzzle: I udnerstand you well, no problem at all As for the brackets, it might be that your clip was wrong adjusted, it happens sometimes. Yet thanks for your understanding and help.

Yeah that should be fine. Ideally you should use the fan on the longer side, that gives more performance.

ASUS P5K AiLifestyle Series iP35 Socket 775 It is incompatible if you want to use it the right way round: so that it exhausts to the rear of the case (which is the way recommended in the Scythe manual) otherwise if you want it to blow up and down the case, then you should be able to fit it. YMMV! The exact problem is here (indicated with a yellow arrow) this component is less than 1mm above the height of the heat sink, however this is enough. http://www.btinternet.com/~anonimouse/3com/board.jpg To scythe: please put this motherboard down as NOT compatible to save others further frustation. |

However, using the simple tool shown in this diagram this may be avoided. ![]() (1) Maintenance: The fan is held in place by two screws. In order to remove the fan for cleaning, the cooler has to be removed from the motherboard (or the motherboard removed from the case). Both difficult tasks. If instead on two screws they were replaced by a single extended screw as shown in (B) with a knob on the end, it would be possible to reach down and loosen it and simply slide the fan out sideways. I hope this is all clear and I hope, useful |
