Is there room to install a 40mm fan on top of the northbridge heatsink?
Thanks.

Hello everyoner...

Time to respond to all the questions
RealSucker:
I sent you a PM, unfortunately I can never really guarrantee that it works, having ALL the mobo in the world is like impossible, that would be insane and most manufacturer's won't work with you because they also think that you are competition and then they simply don't like you. Great, isn't it? =)

Drachton:
I think it depends on the RAM and the way you mount Mugen?

qwerty:
P35-DS3R seem to have a rather big heatsink, sorry. But the problem with Mine is not the heatsink but the units around the socket. Painful...but the first set up from the linmk you sent me, seem to fit pretty tight, I wonder about the temps. The coil is inside that black case, so I don't think it will influence anything, yet it is not that perfect. I'm thinking to put Mine status to "not compatible" now. Anyone who can confirm that it doesn't work?

cakeby:
MSI P35 Platinum is on my "Crap what are these guys doing" list. There seem to be not many coils, yet the heatsink around the socket is making the recommendation rather difficult. I'd say it is not compatible, to be on the safe side...If anyone can confirm or disagree, please let me know.

digital_dude:
The sample I have here has a height from base to first fin of 40mm. That should be enough.

Martini:
Thanks for the confirmation, got it in the list now.

Ga-H2Oz:
Welcome. No Andy Samurai Master will not fit based on what I saw from other users. Gigabyte P35-DS3P has the huge hetasink.

Cheers!

Hi Dotorg,

Mugen should be compatible Asus Blitz Formula Special Edition, the capacitors are different and the hetasinks seem to be not that close compared to other baords. The Waterblock is small as well. If you own the Mobo already, please use the dimensions to check if it will be fine.

Finally, I put the Andy Samurai Master on my P35-DS4 Rev1.0.

I had to adapt it because the heatpipe-tower of the DS4 is too high.
Either you cut off parts of some fins on the side of the tower or you push the upper part of the cooler about 2-3cm up. In this position it is cooling the mosfets, too. But it doesn't fit in small cases, because it is as high as a tower-cooler.

The cooling results are very good. It is no problem to cut off some metal. Good luck and have fun.

Bye Sören

Hi Sören,

can you also present the pics you sent me inside here. It is not like I recommend everyone to cut fins, but just for education and I will list the mobo as not compatible - what a pitty ...

Greets,
Andy
