Mugen on ASUS P4C800
Hello, I plan to overclock my old pentium 4 box, and looking for a cooler, I find only very few new ones to fit on socket 478, and even none that seems better than the Mugen in this area. Congratulations Scythe! The question is hence very simple, will the Mugen fit on an ASUS P4C800 motherboard? Thank you for your reply ![]() |

estherk: Thanks for the compliment. I don't see any problems with your mobo. Mugen is usually good with socket 478,939 and AM2 compatibility because of it's structure of pipes. I'd say it is green light

Oli is right, Scythe does not sell any coolers with Socket A compatibility anymore.
Cheers, Stefan

I don't know if this will fit, in my opinion it will be really close to the heatpipes or to large for the heatpipes. When you could get to know, how near the heatpipes are to the CPU-socket and how high they are, you could compare this to the pictures which you can find here: Ninja PLUS Dimensions and Compatibility Actually my colleague was quite sure, that it won't fit, too: Scythe ninja rev b compatible with ASUS CROSSHAIR NF590 SLI Cheers, Stefan

Thanks Stefan, I already have an assembled PC with P5E3 mobo and I love Shythe fan cooler even because You don't need to take PC to pieces in order to place the fan cooler onto the cpu.
![]() I'll check cooler fan dimensions before to buy, but in your opinion, witch of those do you suggest me? Any P5E3 owner could give me his personal experience? |
