Is it compatible with the Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H motherboard?

Anyone could confirm the Ninja Mini's compatibility with MSI's 790FX-GD70?
I'm mostly concerned about the memory slot nearest to the CPU (how high a RAM module will fit there).

Thanks!

hi everyone! I'm planning on an upgrade (from socket 939) to AMD's AM3 platform. I would love to get my Ninja CU anniversary edition to be mounted on the newer socket.
anyone has tried this yet?
is it actually possible or do I need a retention kit to get it installed?

regarding compatibility I'm happy to report back after buying a new MB (not sure yet, AsRock 890GX/880G Extreme 3 look very promising) but any hint in advance would be very helpful. thanks...

The AMD clip should work with AM3, too. Some users have reported slight differences between AM2(+) and AM3 retention modules on the new mainboards. So basically it should fit but please report if you encounter any problems during installation on AM3.

thanks a lot for sharing your opinion and user experiences. I will definitely try to make the Ninja Cu work and try to report my findings as soon as I've bought and assembled the new components (based on AM3 platform). cya...

it's been a while...but finally I've assembled my new workstation and the Ninja CU fits perfectly on an ASRock 870 Extreme 3; along with a quad-core (AMD X4 945 C3) and a decent air circulation it performs quite well.
as a result the Ninja CU indeed seems to be AM3 ready ...

Hi, does anybody know if the Ninja Mini can be mounted on a Asus M4A88TD-M EVO or similar motherboards with that "funny" chipset cooler?

PS I was able to install it on a Asus M3N78-EM and works in passive cooling with a AMD 5050e
