Every support is appreciated and would help other users as well so please feel free to supply any useful compatibility tips, pictures.

PS: Big Thanks to Gigabyte Germany for their Help.

Disclaimer:
Please note that this compatibility may not apply to all the motherboards as the manufacturer randomly tend to change the components (capacitors, condensers, etc) used for their motherboard without informing to the public. Hence, the height of the capacitors and condensers maybe higher depending on the production lot of the motherboard.

Default MSI P35 Platinum

Just registered to add this motherboard to the compatible list .

Finding a cooler to replace the stock intel that came with my Q6600 was a nightmare due to the size restrictions imposed by the heatpipes on the P35 Platinum. Google it - you'll see what I mean!

Took a gamble getting the Andy-Samurai as it's pretty big but it paid off! It only fits in one way and I had to remove my VGA card and power supply to push the clips in (LGA755). The cooler will only fit with the heat pipes pointing towards the back of the motherboard (and even then there are only milimeters to spare), any other direction and the heatpipes on the cooler collide with the heatpipes/heatsinks/capacitors on the board.

Must also say what a great cooler this is - apart from being near silent it has dropped my idle CPU temps from 75C with the stock intel cooler to 30C! The intel was just unspeakably poor!

Hi vestaxboy,

Thanks for confirming the compatibility. I was tendind that it won't be compatible, because of the crazy heatpipe coolers on the Mobo, but seems it works in one direction, cool. Furthermore I'm glad that you like the cooler. Wish you a lot of fun with the product

Cheers,
Andy

What can you say about compability with Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H? It seems that its impossible to put heatpipes above the capacitors, but I don't know is it possible to put them above the RAM without moving RAM modules to slots 3 and 4.

Hi Grossmeister,

I think it won't block the RAM but it can even go to the direction of the capacitors. I looked at a similar mobo and the Andy Samurai Master Cooler, it looked fine, so I think it will work both ways. Should be compatible to Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H.

Greets,
Andy

Hmm, I saw in this list similar mb (Biostar TA690G AM2) and it is not compatible. Think I won't play with ASM, I'll better buy SCNJ-1100.

Hi,

BIOSTAR AM2 Mobos are not compatible but the reason is their Retention Module, it is not comaptible to VTMS. We have modified our VTMS Clips recently to solve the problem, as we don't expect BIOSTAR to react anytime. Gigabyte is one the safer side so ASM should work as mentioned before. I can ask Gigabyte for that Mobo along with Other AM2 Mobos...

Thank you, but nevertheless I decided to buy Ninja Plus because of 2 reasons:
1. I can't try ASM and give it back if I won't be able to install it.
2. I like to put all my fans to +5V, and in this case Ninja Plus should be more efficient due to the bigger space between fins.

Grossmeister:

Then Ninja Plus is really the best choice for you. Hope you'll have a lot of fun "not hearing it working"

Finally I found some information about Andy compabilty with GA-MA69G-S3H:
CPUクーラーデータベース (it is in Japanese).
I translated this page using AltaVista - Babel Fish Translation and here is what I received:
Quote:
Because the heat pipe UMAX Pulsar1GB of the memory slot 1 (a heat spreader there to be) it interferes, moving the slot to 3 4.
When it is backward, there is no interference to memory, but the heat pipe and the condenser just a little contact. Concerning direction being not to understand well, it does, but with the condenser and as for contact the bean jam ball it settled with movement of memory.
Also I found photo of mentioned memory:
http://blog.goo.ne.jp/precure21/e/3f...55cad2c95e6925
Heatspreades are not very big, so I think nothing will change if they will be removed.
