Every support is appreciated and would help other users as well so please feel free to supply any useful compatibility tips, pictures.

Disclaimer:
Please note that this compatibility may not apply to all the motherboards as the manufacturer randomly tend to change the components (capacitors, condensers, etc) used for their motherboard without informing to the public. Hence, the height of the capacitors and condensers maybe higher depending on the production lot of the motherboard.

I have informations about the compatibility of the "Ninja PLUS CPU Cooler Rev. B" with Gigabyte its "GA-M59SLI-S5":

The Cooler may be mounted on this board, but it prevents the use of the first DIMM slot. There is no other problem with mounting this cooler on this board.

You should note: Compatible with small restrictions.

Hi guys, any word on the Abit IP35-E? I'm looking to buy both of these, and want to make sure there are no clearance issues.

what's about compatibility with the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3?

Hello everyone,

@Space_Coyote:
I didn't have the Abit IP35-E around yet. Judging by the pics I found on the NET, Ninja PLUS should be compatible to that Board. The Layout is on the cleaner side, no complicated heatpipe highways. Please confirm once you have tested, then I can add the Mobo to the list. Thanks!

Dr.Gremlyn:
I'm still waiting for that Mobo. But I'd say the compatibility to GA-P35-DS3 is like 90% OK. I can not promis, because Gigabyte might change something w/o telling me.

Cheers,
Andy

Finally I've bought motherboard Asus P5K (without any suffix) and I have to say, that Scythe Ninja + rev. B cooler is fully compatible with my new mobo. So you can add this mobo in "Ninja PLUS Rev. B Compatibility List".

Default What about the upcoming X38 from Asus

I'm sorry if I sound too impatient.
Scythe Ninja is my favorite cooler, and I really don't want any other cooler than a Ninja. As it's a favorite for the computer silencing community...

I'm glad the Ninja fits the P5K3 from Asus, but right now I'm wondering about the upcoming Asus X38 Chipset motherboard, aka P5E3 Deluxe.

Please check the pics (They were shown on Sept 1st)

VR-Zone : Technology Beats - Asus P5E3 Deluxe X38 Mainboard Preview!

More pictures here:

TechConnect Magazine - First pics of Asus' X38 P5E3 Deluxe board go online

It would really be a blessing if the Ninja fits it. Sythe Ninja for me is the best, and very difficult to replace or part with. What do you guys think?

If it doesn't fit it will be great if Scythe starts thinking about another Rev for the Ninja, specially if the X38 Mobos are targeted for overclockers and enthusiasts, searching for the best cooling solutions. And for me the best and more silent comes from Scythe...

Any input? After watching the pictures I'm sincerely crossing my fingers.

Hi everyone,

zholood: Updated, thanks.

lotario: Thanks for your support and trust in Scythe products. I try to help you with the compatibility, but this is something I can not 100% sure. I don't get the ASUS Mobo in advanced and can't pre-test. So long it is only my assumption based on the images from vr-zone.
Ninja should basically fit that Mobo, unless ASUS changes something.

The heatsinks around the socket are wastement of material and just raising the price, I hope they can stop this nonsense soon.

Greetings

Default Compatible with GA-P35-DS3R

Hello, the Ninja is compatible with Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R (mine is a revision 1.0)

BTW, that means that GA-P35-DS3P is compatible as well, layout is the same around the CPU.

I was initially concerned that it would touch a row of condensers, but it turned out fine. The orientation I used is the one that leaves the least space between the Northbridge radiator and the Ninja heatpipes, I tried both ways.

Here some pictures:

All the best !

Default Ninja PLUS Rev.B on ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe

Hi,

Just built my new machine, and have installed the Ninja PLUS Rev.B onto the Asus M2N32 Sli deluxe motherboard. Long story cut short, ordered the MB & cooler without checking compatibility. Whilst waiting for the delivery found out they were stated as incompatible. When everything arrived, I tried to assemble, it was tight but managed to install without too much trouble.

I am now experiencing temperature issues and wonder if the incompatibility is not due to physical constraints but performance incompatibility too. CPU under load is hitting 65 Deg C & idle is around 49-55 Deg C. CPU Heat sink is not that warm, M2N32 cooling pipes are too hot to touch. Have tried re-seating the CPU heatsink twice with arctic silver 5, no real gain achieved.

Could the fact that the Ninja's heat pipes are touching the M2N32 cooling pipes, be causing the lack of heat transfer up the stack?

Any thoughts?

Setup is as follows;
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
  • Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
  • Scythe Ninja-PLUS Rev B
  • OCZ 2GB Kit (2X1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory CL4 Unbuffered 2.1V Reaper HPC Edition
  • BFG 8800GTS OC2 640MB GDDR3 Dual DVI TVO PCI-E Graphics Card
  • Samsung SpinPoint HD501LJ 500GB SATAII Hard Drive
  • Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Mid Tower Case - With 500W EarthWatts PSU
