Default Have I bought a Lemon?

Just bought a Kama Connect 2 and used it to transfer 189GB of large image backup files of about 10GB each file from one single PATA IDE drive.

I have had two problems which make me think this product is Not Fit for Purpose:

1. Every 20-30 minutes and during the file transfers, the drive regularly "became unavailable" to windows (disconnected whatever). This required switching off the power and then on again to respin-up the connected drive.

2. After completing the transfers, I used the programs which originally created them (Paragon HDM Pro 2009 and o&o DiskImage v3 Pro) to check the validity of the archive backups. EVERYONE OF THEM WAS INVALID!!! due to CRC errors.

Comments from the company before it goes back for a refund?

Have I a faulty device, reading the forum here, it seems I am not alone............

Hello Nigel,

it's quite normal, that you will read lots of issues in a support forum - that's why we have it. Kama Connect is sometimes having some issues.

Did you check your device on an other system to make sure, that it is the device which causes the errors?

Kind regards,
