HowTo: CRC-checks with Kama Connect 2
Hi guys,
here is a short HowTo about doing CRC-checks with your Kama Connect 2.
What you need: - 5 Files (1x 10GB, 1x 5GB, 1x 3GB, 1x2GB, 1x1GB), total 20GB
You can generate these files quite easily by opening the command prompt (Start, Run... cmd) and then typing: fsutil file createnew c:\testfile.txt 10737418240
This creates a 10GB-txt-File on drive C:. For the other file-sizes use 5368709120, 3221225472, 2147483648 and 1073741824 bytes.
- ViceVersa-Software (Free evaluation version available, klick)
- Create 2 folders (One on local harddisk, one on your HDD connected over USB using the Kama Connect 2 using the original cables provided with Kama Connect 2) named e.g. temp
- Copy the files created as described above into the folder on your local harddisk (this means only on your local drive, not into the external hdd!)
- Open ViceVersa and select the two folders. This looks then like this:

- Klick on Compare and then on OK when the Status summary appears. Now select "Backup (Mirror source and target)" as Method and click on Execute.

- Klick OK to close the execution summary.
- Select Lists -> Verify -> Verify/Recompare Source(s) and Target(s) using CRC and let it run.

- If there are any CRC-errors, you will see those in the Status Summary
CRC-Errors found:

No CRC-Errors found:

The program is really exact, you can try this by e.g. adding one single sign inside of you txt-files.
- Have fun. The process of doing backup and verify needs quite a long time.
