Default Kabuto on gigabyte ga-890gpa-ud3h

Hello, i use Scythe Kabuto for cooling a phenom II 945 processor (without overclocking) on gigabyte board ga-890gpa-ud3h. The temperature of the cpu variees between 25 and 35 degree. But the cooler is always running with the same tempo although the cpu is not becoming too warm. The automatical adjusting from the gigabyte board seems not to be very optimal (also AMDs quiet&cool tool). How can i manually adjust that Kabuto is running with less rotation to have a silent WINDOWS 7 system.

I have no problem when you answer in german. Thanks

I'd do the following: buy a Fanmate fan controller and don't use the 4-pin PWM connector on the board. Manually adjust the Fanmate to ensure a good temp even under load and then leave it this way.

Taking oyur actual temps in account I'd say you should be able to reduce the fan speed significantly. You'll have to switch of possible CPU fan warnings from the mainboard if necessary.

Hello,
programs like EasyTune or SpeedFan can adjust the RPM of your fans. You can also look up in the BIOS if there is a fan control option where you can adjust the fan manually.
Have you checked the connectors? Maybe you connected the fan to a systemfan-connector which only have 3 pins or the PWM-pin is not connected properly. Normally the PWM adjusts the RPM down if the CPU is cooled enough.

Thank you for your help. Now i tested some settings. And i found out that my Kabuto runs very silent and cools the CPU with no problem.

The noise which is disturbing me is coming from the case cooler at the backside of my Xigmateks Asgard II Midi Tower. The cooler is connected to the pin on the board called "System2 Fan". Maybe i can deactivate this because Kabuto is doing his job, or not?

Yes, you could. But remember that the system fan brings some fresh air for other components which heat up. You could also replace it with a very silent Scythe fan like Slipstream 800 or S-Flex 800.
