Default Kabuto Heatpipe Direction

I wonder if the direction of the heatpipes inside the case affects the performance of the whole heatsink. Which direction would be the best for the best cooling results in a normal atx case? I can install the heatsink so the heatpipes point towards the graphic card or towards the power supply.

I also wonder why none of my threads have any response so far.

Check the "preferred mounting" thread - Okinawa said he would eventually upload a pic, but in meantime we have to assume that the preferred mounting is with the heatpipes facing up - facing the psu if your psu is mounted at the top of your case. Not sure what is the extent of the performance difference as compared to the heatpipes facing either side of the case. The manual is however clear that the mounting position when the pipes are facing the bottom of the case is not recommended.

I just installed the heatsink with the heatpipes facing the power supply unit, my psu is mounted at the top of the case. I will post if I recognize any temperature changes.

temperatures haven't improved really with the heatpipes facing the psu. I don't know if it could have anything to do with the direction of the ribs. Now the ribs are like sideways to the case fan, so the case fan can suck the air out much better I guess. First I installed the Kabuto with the heatpipes facing the ram slots, so right before the case fan on the back there was the plane surface from the rib where the heatpipes end. I don't know which setup is better to let the case fan suck out as much air as possible.

With my current setup I'm afraid my case fan sucks out the air to fast, so the fan of the kabuto won't have much influence in cooling purposes.

How fast should a case fan on the back rotate actually? With max speed? I guess it has to be adapted to the cpu fan, but I can't tell for certain.

I'm sorry if I didn't explain it accurately enough, I'm german. I'll add some pictures of the two setups I described:

I just want to know what "heatpipes facing..." should mean. Does it mean the heatpipes ends or the side of the heatsink where the heatpipes come up from the cpu into the ribs. Do I have to apply the kabuto with the heatpipe ends facing the psu or with the side where the heatpipes are bent and where ribs and cpu heatsink are connected?

Really seems as if you have to fall on your knees and beg for an answer in this forum, sad but true *sing*
