Hi, today i reapplied my Kabuto onto the Cpu, removed the old thermal grease from the cpu as well as from the bottom of the cooler with a special liquid cleaner for cpu's.
Then put some new thermal grease in the middle of the cpu and dispersed it all over the heat spreader with a sim card from a mobile phone. I reapplied the cooler as shown in the flash movie, first clipped one side of the cooler into the clamp of the retention module then pushed down the other clip of the cooler and at the same time pulled the clip applied first in the opposite direction so that the clip which is pushed down simply slides under the clamp. At the moment i have around 29°C in Idle (AMD Phenom 2 X4 810 @ 6MB Cache) and I just opened a directory which contains many video files and it took a while after all files were shown onto the screen. At that time the cpu temperature raised to 35°C and after all files were loaded, the temperature fell down to 29°C. That also happened when I started Skype, the temperature raised from 29°C to 33°C and then fell down to 29°C when skype was loaded. When I start a music video the temp raised to 30°-31°C. My question is if those little jumps are normal or could that be because the thermal grease is new? I use Everest Ultimate Edition to read the temps.
