Default Kabuto perfomance

Hi,

I'd like to ask a tricky question. How could I estimate the Kabuto cooler performance I recently bought? I mean I would like to got some results when I could say: "yes, the cooler was installed properly, I have not broken it during installation, it was sold to me not broken too - so on"?

I did a stress test to my CPU and got following:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ EE AM2 65W
Temperature inside case: 35° C
CPU Temperature: 64° C

So how can I know if it is what I should expect from Kabuto or not? (Honestly I expected to see around 45° C). Is there any chart like CPU power/temperature using Kabuto?

I saw other post here Zipang vs Kabuto where guy told that he stressed AMD X2 7750 which has TDP 95W what is higher then has mine one. And he got 49°C with Kama Angle B.

So I suppose something is wrong with my Kabuto?
Thank you for answering me!

So nobody knows? Sadly...
Now I got 78°C using Everest CPU stability test... Who knows if it is good result or not?

My opinion: 78 looks too high for the 65W version of this CPU which is labled "energy efficient". Try to use Prime for the load tests as this program is often used and makes comparison easier. Nevertheless you can be quite sure that Prime won't deliver lower temps under full load as Everest did so I'd be disappointed by the temps.

Did you re-apply the thermal grease and install the cooler a second time?

How fast is the fan running? Also tell us something about the airflow in your chassis in general.

Hi Oli,

Thanks for answering me.
So I have reapplied compound and remount my cooler. I must say that AM2 locking system is not really good. The cooler is sliding on CPU so that it is difficult to understand if the CPU is covered by cooler or not.
After that I have looks like stable 54°C (15 min under test). Temperature inside case was about 31°C. There are no other coolers inside.

As to Prime95 - it wokrs 10 min with FFT 8-8K then my screen has corrupted. After that became white and PC got freezed completely

Any ideas/suggestion?

If Prime freezes your PC it could be a sign of

- overheating CPU
- insufficient vCore
- faulty RAM
