I just installed a Katana II yesterday on a year old Pent 4 D 2.8, And it took my breath away. It ran at human body temp 98°F [37°C]
with 74°F [23°C] ambient room temp. Now in comparison the Northbridge is on fire at an untouchable 140°F [60°C] with its stock Asus (c) alu cooler. I would like you to make a version of the Katana II for Chipsets, thats thinner, or offset. I was so impressed that I would just buy another Katana II and adapt a vga/chipset bracket for it. But its so close to my cpu and existing Katana II that one of the mount/retaining hole is under existing cpu's Katana II. Last edited by larek; 08-03-2007 at 06:09 PM. |

I just saw in Giant-Fan topic under this one, Huedlrick Talk about a product on your Japanese site not found on your US site. I followed the link and found two Thermalright coolers, which are available in the US. Does Scyth make them?
In comparison to the Kantana II there kinda Fugly, especially the offset one. So my request still stands, but I may have to live with a Thermalright for the time being. Last edited by larek; 08-03-2007 at 06:09 PM. |

Hi larek,
Thanks for your feedback and welcome. In fact we are working on a chipset cooler, we showed one this year but we are improving it because we are not satisfied yet. I hope the chipset cooler is ready by begin. of 2008. Katana 2 is a bit too big for chipset, for VGA it could work but you need some clips and that is a bit sticky. In Japan Scythe is a distributor, we are working with all kind of brands and sell their products. We do not produce it anyhow, we just make sure people can buy it ![]() Greets, Andy
