hey,
i want to tell you some impressions and suggestions for improvements on some scythe stuff I own or do not own. A general thing I noticed long ago is that scythe prefers fixing fans on a heatsink with these wire holders. Well in my opinion that's a pretty good method because the fan is really stable in it's position, there's no way the fan can move in any direction. Now the bad thing about it: If a customer that bought a scythe cooling product wants to change the standard fans, that come with the heatsink against some stronger ones he has to remove those wire holders. And that can be really really hard and you have to be carefull not to damage or bend fins. (Best example for this is the musashi vga cooler, fins are to fragile on this too), the fans are clamped so strong with the wire holders, there's nearly no way to remove those without bending fins or move them around. I think that replacing that wire holder method with a simple screw fixing method would be great. I think of 4 triangles in each corner of the heatsink with like 4 (or even more for higher compatibility ) drill-holes with fine pitch thread. That would also raise the general value of the whole product I think. Another thing I noticed on some scythe cooling products is that heatpipes like on my Kabuto and setsugen aren't bent accurately. The kabuto from sideview for example is a little bit leaning to one side. I mean the upper fins aren't parallel to the bottom heatsink on the cpu. If the heatpipes had been bent a little bit more I think the whole kabuto would have been more straight. But I guess that's only optical and won't have influence on the performance. Same thing with the setsugen, the whole fin part seems leaning to one side cause the bent heatpipes aren't bent accurately. picture: here And as another idea it would be great and I guess appreciated by many customers including myself if you added some scythe stickers to all scythe products. Another improvement I'd be pleased with is if you filled the thermal grease into an injection or something that can be closed after using. With the current little plastic bags it's a mess and when you want to use the rest of the thermal grease later it might be dryed out cause the bag was open all the time. And I guess scythe likes small packages. Please don't sqeeze everything into such small packages. I got cooling products where some fins were bent because the package around the heatsink was too small. In my opinion the packages could be a little bit bigger. I guess that's it for the moment and please don't misunderstand me, i like scythe cooling products, I'm a real scythe fan, I just want to give some feedback and impressions to maybe help improving upcoming products. ![]() Greetings.
