Following are tests made with W7 64bit.This gives the cores more equal as you can see.Cpu i7940 @2.93GHz.First a combination of Everest test followed by the OCCT test.Differs in amplitude as they test differently. The two next are first the highest and then lowest messured core temp given by OCCT of the test.Ambient temp 21-22degC.(Build see sign)
@3.36GHz ![]() ![]() Next the same shown when testing at: @3.07GHz ![]() ![]() I used Arctic Silver5 needs to have some cure time of up to 200h and several cooldown/starts. Until today I estimated about 120-150Hours of use and may lower even more in time. Compared to my earlier heatsink the Big Shurikan the GKC has better efficensy at lower airflows and noise level. All noise only from the air "blowing" and not mechanical or resonance in chassi. The top loads off 100% will never be a situation when using any programs but for stresstests only or OC runs. The Shurikan cooled other components very well and MB but the GKC does it even better no doubt. I found they both would have done the job but to the GKC advantage is the possibility for me to run my CPU on OC 3.4GHz with no limitations and still good temps and silent.Uring normal Windows op the fans shut down,in Auto on my Scythe Server fan controller, and only the GKC fan is running and two 60mm fans in the rear at silent speed. (Scythe Mini Kase) Post with earlier testing; see following. http://www.scythe-eu.com/forum/showthread.php?p=9012 Click Me! Post of Big Shurikan and testdiagrams: Click Me!Big Shurikan EDIT 2009-12-31 @2.88GHz and RAM 800MHz QPI 3840 Changes in Bios for Ram to take advantage of them.System speed realy faster but also a temp raise. On the boarder line for use but as said before "100% load is not a normal situation" but exstreem to tests. ![]() ![]() EDIT 2010-01-24 OC [this Vista 32bit] to the level @3.8GHz and RAM 800MHz QPI 3600MHz. This same as was used in the test of ASUS RampageII Gene by Madshrimp forum leeghoofd/jmke 2009-07-20 and published there. It turned out to run at about the same temps and result as my Skill test but with higher CPU clock and 800MHz Ram, QPI 3600. MADSHRIMPS - Hardware Reviews ,Crazy Projects, Modding Tutorials and Overclocking Im not able to post more pictures here but You can find them in my Albums. Go to Albums:Official Scythe Forum - AiAiAi's Album: Grand Kama Cross on Asus RampageII Gene. Validation go to: CPU-Z Validator 3.1 ! POST Your experiences and feedback !
