Default Scythe Grand Kama Cross?

How well is it supposed to perform?

Better than the Katana 3 I presume?

Hello StaticPressure,

yes, the performance is better than the Katana 3rd In addition, a larger area cools, while the fan is pleasantly quiet.

Katana 3 - max. 55.55 CFM / max 31.07 dBA
Grand Kama Cross - max. 69.93 CFM / 24.7 dBA

More air flow and quieter for sure. Next week i think, i will do make a new Dimensions and Compatibility thread for it

I apologize for double posting, but I was wondering if this cooler is better than the Zipang 2.

Reason being, they both have massive a 140MM fan and they are the same price in my area.

The cooler design is different and also obstructed fans. Zipang 2 have on top Kaze Maru with 1.000 rpm and on Grand Cross Kama works one PWM Kaze Maru 2 fan with max. 1.300 rpm +-. The main difference is definitely the design.

Thumbs up OCCT and Everest tests GKC on ASUS RampageII Gene

Mounted GKC 4 day's ago and "breaking in" the Arctic Silver compound I used for the heatsink mount on the CPU.(check signature). Over time,up to 200h, in future it should come down more.So far I'm happy with the temps as I'm loading with nearly 150W.These temps when running Win7 64-bit.Before I had Big Shurikan that did a very good job but not made for the loads I'm after.

Sorry for writing in German...

@DrHouse
Can not really help Y as I have Intel. But check out this if Y haven't allready.

YouTube - Eiskaltmacher.de - Grand Kama Cross Montage

About "die Lamellen sind alles andere als stabil" I find 5-6 lamellen
loose on my heatsink, a pitty as these will not transfer heat as good as possible. But the GKC cools like they say,low noise and effectivly but not for high end OC.Will post diagrams when paste cured more.

When Y have many loose "Lamellen" Change it out with Y dealer.

Thanks for your help - I watched it several times before installing the GKC - however, it simply does not fit on my mainboard, the distance between the two ends of the brace is about 5 mm too large.
