Hello korra,

welcome in our support forum.

its sound a little bit strange, but did you try other fan and sensor cables? Are there the same problems?

Kind Regards

Having solved my first problem with the help given in thread kaze master power a fan? I'd like to add my problems to this thread as one of them is the same with the one described by Korra.
I have installed 2 panels to my brand new chassis (Thermaltake Spedo Advance) to control the speed of a) the 4 out of 6 preinstalled fans (not the 230mm ones as they run at 800 rpm and they make no noise) and b) the two fans of my CPU cooling system (Noctua NH-U12 SE 1366). As the 4 case fans are connected with a molex connector not enabling controlling the speed, I had to change the 4 fans with new ones with a RPM signal wire.
Finally the system works OK and it seems I can control the speed of the 6 in total fans since yesterday BUT a) I got an alarm signal when I turn off only the front fan and NOT the rest of them, b) I got a zero value (0.0°) from the sencor on one of my HDD's and c) the stickers that my reseller used to stick the sencors are not of good quality.
I have changed the connector (on the panel) with the zero value to the next one and the zero value moved also.

Chris or anyone else can you help me solving these problems?

about the moving 0.0°c i would say its a defect cable..

now to my Problem.. i did a testrow with some
changes on my 2 Kazemasters
first i found out that the rpm signal goes off if i start another 1-2 fans on that kazemaster, i dont need em all time together
on 1 is a cpufan 92mm Zalman (zalman 9700 led)
on 2 is a 120mm Scythe Slipstream 1900
on 3 is a 120mm somewhat ledfan
---------------
Fan1 Fan2 Fan3
Cpu 120slip 120mm
1100~ off 1100~ (the fan2 goes off after around 3-5 minutes)

i first changed cpu and 120mm slipstream
here the same, fan2 goes off after 3-5 minutes

then i changed the cable, still the same
then i tested on the other Kazemaster but no problems there
i took a look on the back of the kaze then and i think its a production problem, here the pic i marked fan2 who is off

Hello all,

@korra

it sounds you have a defective unit, so i would suggest that you send it to the shop where you buy the unit and get a new one. alternativ: you can send it drirect to our office in Hamburg Germany. But we only accept free packages.

@markfil

about your sensor cable: it sounds like that this cable is defect, can you try another one? every kaze Master has additional sensor cables.
About your fan: after my brainstorming it sound like your fan plays a pseudo death and the Kaze Master recognize this. Because the Kaze Master do not really shut off the fans. So it seems to me that there is a prob with you fan, or lets say: its not a harmonic realationship between the Kaze Master and your fan.

Kind Regards.
Chris

Thank you Chris for your prompt reply and valuable advices.

I found the spare sencor cables, replaced the defect one and realized that it shows the actual temp of the hard disc now. BTW, I noticed that the reseller has stuck the sencors on the plastic surface of the 3 HDD's, so I moved them to the metal surface and I think I'll get this way the actual HDD temp.

About the "shut off" porblem now. I have to inform you that, in my case, Kaze Master really shuts off every fan connected to each panel!!! My problem is that the alarm sounds only when I turn off the front case fan (140mm) connected to #1 of the panel (as it's written in Installation Guide) and NOT when I turn off the rest of the fans.

Hello markfil,

what happens if you conect the front fan to another channel - same issue?
What happens if you use another fan on this channel?

i want to find out if it is a fan or a panel problem.

Kind Regards
Chris

Thank you Chris for your (professional) interest.
Well, I tried to change fans to #1 channel and came up with the conclusion that the alarm sound is produced only either if I switch off every fan connected to #1 channel or if I take off the 3pin fan connector from it. I don't know whether this is a normal function of the specific panel as "the alarm will sound when the fan speed display shows 0" according to the Installation Guide.

In any case, I can switch off (stop) all the fans connected to the 4 channels of every panel which I think is very useful for me since I have connected with the 2 panels a) 4 fans out of the 6 preinstalled fans in my chassis (Thermaltake Spedo Advance) and b) 2 fans of the CPU cooler (Noctua).

Hello markfil,

its sounds like a connection problem with the "off" mode. So the easiest way is, you send it back to the shop where you buy it and get a new one.

Kind Regards
Chris
