Hello,
I've just bought a Scythe Kaze Master Server (5.25 ") and there is a problem with my case's 23 cm fans (I own a Cooler Master ATCS 840 case). Most of the times the Kaze Mater is not able to spin up my 23 cms fans and i must reset the Kaze Master to do so... Is there a solution or it's an hardware limitation (I tried to boot in manual mode with full speed set for my fans but the problem is the same) ? Regards |

Hi,
i have the same case in private, so i can say that this is a problem of the fans. they only spin up with 12V, i can slow down them to 600rpm, but sometimes they stop working. then you have to spin the fans with your fingers. So my tip: us it in MAN and at full speed. thats or try to find a better/higher treshold point. Chris

Thank you for your answer.
The problem is that even at full speed in manual mode sometimes they didn't start... I think i'm going to plug my 23 cm fans on the motherboard and use the integrated fan management. I will only plug my others 12cms fans on the Scythe Kaze master. |

thats the way i use my last one in the front of the case.

I tried without the front fan, same problem, sometimes one of the two others 23 cms fans does'nt start...
However i'm in manual mode with full speed... I think my last solution is to plug only 12cm fans on the scythe, too bad

What number you have top of the fans (next to the CE-mark)?
I have two pieces 8X161A and one 8X151A. And i know there is also 8Y131A (and maybe some other "versions"). I noticed that 8X151A need more voltage to start to spin. And that fan also make little louder noise than 8X161A fans. Last edited by HSJ; 07-02-2009 at 10:15 AM. |
