Hello there,
I installed a Kama Reader 2 in my new machine. I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. When I put a SDHC card in the slot, the card gets recognized from OS, but I can't write on or format it, I can only read it. The OS gives me an alert box that says "the disk is write protected" (my OS is in italian so the message in english could be a little different I tried using the cards with other readers and they works just fine, and also I use them with my camera wich also can read and write on the cards. The cards are a 4Gb Verbatim Class 4 SDHC and a 8Gb Sandisk Ultra II Class 4 SDHC. There's something wrong with the device? There are OS-specific drivers I need to install? Thanks a lot in advance to anyone for the help! Bye -- JackRackham |

Three months after I posted this message, I still didn't have any kind of answer from Scythe Support.
In these three months I bought two other Scythe products, a Kama Bay Amp SDA-1100 and a Kama Flow 2 120 Fan. The card reader never worked properly, the amplifier started making strange noises after 1 month (replaced by seller) and the fan was DOA (replaced by seller). The sellers said that Scythe has a good support and they quickly replace faulty items. But three faulty items out of three, it's a little bit outrageous. Well, maybe it's just me, but after lurking a little bit on this forum I think I can say that Scythe is a cheap company that just doesn't care. I will never ever buy anything from Scythe again, and I will post my experiences on every forum, newsgroup or social network that I have access to. So, good riddance Scythe. -- JackRackham |
