It seems I'm not the only one who gets no dedicated card slot icons with Windows 7. Well, Scythe Team, is somebody working on this?

Kind regards,
888

Indeed 888, it seems i cant get the driver to work in win7 (32bit) either.
Tried several usb drivers, none work.
I also cant find the .inf file setup supposed to install. Cant i get this driver by zip instead of an old dos setup install ?

will try more.. but it seems it aint working

mobo: msi p55-gd65

Hello,

How do you use your YD-8V08? with intern or extern cable ? So please test first both and maybe i I have a clue.

Best Regards,

Tested Kama Reader 2 on W7 x64 yesterday. Card reading works fine, basically. IBM Microdrive didn't work at all (long time accessing the drive - red light - then finally green light and no drive to access) and also the available Vista .exe file for drive icons didn't work.

W7 x64 only shows the drives in "Computer" when a card is plugged in. But the slots are correctly shown with the appropriate drive letters in "Disk Management".

I use it intern, with the usb pin connector.
Maybe i connected it wrong, but windows does show: unknown device and i see the led in front of the pc blinking when booting.

Also.. i dont know what's going on, but the process running in the background which is installed after running the driver setup, seems to slow my pc down with 80% (YIMK.EXE or something like that).
After i deinstall the process everything works normal again.

I got 4 pc's, two of them win7 32's, diff mobo's. I'll post some more information later when i installed the drive external/internal on the other win7 32 (diff mobo) and winxp's. I stopped using 64's cause the rest of the world aint ready

I really hope a normal driver could be made without running a .exe in the background. Is that possible ? I think it might have a conflict with other processes on my computer. The normal windows way might not ?

External works fine on win7 32 and winXp. All 4 drives are shown in the explorer shell. Next step is WinXP internal. More info soon

Ok.. back again.
Finally had the time to test it on my other windows7 machine. And it works.
This pc has a asus p7p55d motherboard.
Connected with the internal usb pin connector.

Without installing the drivers i saw the drives in explorer, but couldnt connect to it. After installing the drivers i could read the memory card.

also yediex.exe is behaving normal (0% cpu)
Going to figure out why the other one (msi p55-gd65) is not working.

It now does work on my other win7 32 machine (msi p55-gd65).

Things i did:
  • removed my realtek hd audio driver
  • checked the pin connection
  • made sure pwr cable was in
  • no fdd cable connected (dont need it)

Hope it helps others.
