Hey just thought I'd get back on this one.

Sadly the cabling was correct, but i think the problem was to do with a conflict between Vista x64 and my motherboard?

Because recently my hard drive failed so I decided to install Vista 32-bit instead and the floppy drive works.

So anyway, thanks for making this product - a good little space saver!

I have 2 questions:

- why does the vista download contain the same file twice?
- will it work with w7rtm?

Question Media Identification for Windows 7

Hi there,

since the Vista version of the Media Identification doesn't work with Windows 7 I'd like to know when to expect a release for Windows 7.
The dedicated icons for each card slot are really useful imho.

Thanks

Post Hi - is there a Linux driver?

I have just installed the YD-8V08 into my PC running a Debian-type Linux (Mint 7 to be precise) - the drive doesn't appear, so I wondered if there is a driver available?

If not, would you consider either:
a:writing one for us Linux community users, or
b:releasing the Source-code to the main Linux Kernel creator, Linus Torvalds, for an "open-source" driver to be created?

Thanks for letting me post.

Try Novatech (Computer Supplies and PC Components from Novatech) - that's where I got my one, but they only have them on black.

Hi technui2UK,

at the moment we not support linux operation systems and i think in the next time we will don´t create a driver for it.

@ Triple Eight

YD-8V08 works fine with Windows 7 x64 tested here and we had no problems

Hi Okiwana Okimoto,

the floppy drive/card-reader hardware works with Windows 7 without problems here too. Each card slot is shown as an additional drive in Windows Explorer. The problem is that "usbstvs100.exe" tells me the installation was successful but after the reboot I have only the standard windows icons for the card slots. I'd like to have the icons that tell me which slot is represented by each drive.
You get these specific icons in Windows 7 after running the "usbstvs100.exe" for Vista?
