Default Kama Reader 2 - XD Card

Hello

I have a problem with my new Kama Reader 2.
I cannot use my Olympus XD Type M 2GB picture card in my reader (the device detecting the card (the led is red) but the OS (or the device) cannot see the content on the media.

My questions are:
Is there a copyright protection on the Oly XD? (Is this cause the problem?)
Can this device handling of this type of memory card?
I found this :
xD-Picture Card
5th paragraph
Is there a firmware for the kama reader2? :P

My CFC (256MB) and a MicroSD (2GB) cards are working fine so I don't think the device is defected but who knows.
My olympus camera can read and write to the card, and I can see the content of the mass storage in windows file manager, so the camera can handle the card but kama doesen't as I see now.

I buyed this product mainly for this so I'm a little bit disappointed.
Can anybody help me?
Thank you

Ok, Thanks for the information.

However I'm very curious about why are the text on the product box say in multiple languages :
"... xD Media..."
and a spreadsheet on the back with a list of these types:
...xD Picture Card , xD Picture Card Type M, xD Picture Card Type H.
(Or there is a difference between olympus xD and other xD cards?)

Thanks anyway

The information on the package seems to be wrong. The product info page doesn't mention XD (Kama Reader 2 : Scythe EU GmbH) but the package shown on the product page does show to text: "xD media" (http://www.scythe-eu.com/uploads/pic...ackages_01.jpg). Strange somehow.

The Japanese product info also states:
xD Picture Card、xD Picture Card Type M
xD Picture Card Type H

So i checked it again.

This should be work:

xD Picture Card
xD Picture Card Type M
xD Picture Card Type H

We are listing xD pictures cards no longer. This has toll reasons. That´s why you can´t find it on the product page.

Best Regards,
OKi

So should it work?
(because there is an xD slot and the device is supported as the description say on the box)
What should I do if not work anyway (as I wrote previously)?

I'd try another card of the same type first.

Thank you!
You are really helpful!

I buyed exactly this card which you shown on the image (type and size) today but not work.

I removed the usb driver and plug again but does not help.
The drive not found message always appear when I check xD/SM slot.

(I've seen very interesting thing:
When I insert the card and click on the (xd/SM) drive in windows (almost the same time) then the device is thinking (cursor is changed) for a short time and then give up.

Probably something wrong with the device because I'm totally sure I put the card correctly into the device all the time.

I asking my seller for a solution
Thank you

Hi Oki, realitycopier,

I have exactly the same issue. We have two xD cards, both Olympus brand, 256MB and 512MB (H-type) but neither will work on my Kama Reader 2. I was suspecting a faulty unit, but after reading this threat, it starts to sound like a design issue. Any other solutions?

Like Oki, I'm running W7, but similar issue on WindowsXP
