Default YD-8V08 and windows 7

Before buying the YD-8V08 I sent an email to Scythe Germany and asked if it would work with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

I received the reply that yes it should work as long as I use the Vista 64bit drivers and if it didn't to start the Vista drivers in compatibility mode.

Well it didn't work, Windows 7 now has a "Unknown device" in its hardware manager and I have no idea where the driver installation put the drivers to try to change it manually (what I normally do anyway to install USB related drivers) or to use the compatibility mode like I was told in the email.

So if anyone knows where the drivers are now installed on my PC and could tell me or has the *inf as a file download they could send to me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Shawn

Hello,

so we have tested it on Windows 7 X64 Ultimate Edition here.
Intel I7 920
X58 Motherboard
6GB RAM and ....

It work nice with intern and external USB connector. All cards Windows 7 found. I have connected it, Windows 7 found it/installed driver than i had to do some restart. After restart it works nice.
Two pictures from testing:

I'm happy it works for you. It however does not work for me. I plan on reformatting my PC to install Win 7 Ultimate 64bit (box instead of the RC) this weekend or next when I have time. Maybe I'll have better luck then. I'll let you know.

Just wanted to chime in to say it also worked perfectly for me, Windows installed the drivers itself. (Win7 Ultimate x64 retail)

Hi RaRo,

what can I say. I've installed it as normal without the usbstvs100.exe. Plugged in -> boot PC -> Windows 7 search for drivers -> Windows 7 installed drivers and asks for a restart. Pc restarts and different cards successfully read.

It was Win 7 Ultimate X64
