Default Kama Reader 2 LED

Hi, I have just bought a Kama Reader 2 SCKMRD-2000-BK . I plan to use it mounted inside the case. I like the product but am annoyed at the green led that is always on (more a bug than a feature IMO). I wouldnt mind cutting the cable powering it (I assume it is the green one). Would doing this risk damage the rest of the unit? Is there any other way of switching that led off while the unit is connected? Thanks

the green light is a normal power LED and no, there are only the way you said. to cut the LED is the only solution for you, but this also will avoid your warranty. On the other side you maybe can try to paint the LED black.

cheers chris

Thanks for the answer. The reason i dont want to cover the led or paint over it is because i want to keep the red access led function. I dont mind losing the warranty. But would cutting just the green wire risk damage to the unit or the inserted media?

We really never try it.

But i think it should work without any problem for the unit, because its the same technic as everybody use for PC indicator LED.
