I'm still waiting for this product!!!

If it has acceptable hifi quality I will definitely buy this amp. This would be perfect for connecting with my good set of passive speakers. And as a student I like things that don't cram my limited space. No need for a full blown hifi system since I listen to music on my pc/mp3 player only. Last but not least, I can more easily take it with me when I switch living place.

So any release date?

review for the amp:
Overclock3D.Net :: Review :: Scythe Kama Bay Amp :: Introduction
it states release will be next week.

an honestly - i consider buying it.
i want to get rid of my ten years old cambridge soundworks system and build a nice pair of speakers. as they will be passive and i don't intend to solder me an amp just for the pc, this will be a nice alternative.

Vanseb:
Yeah, that is one of the ideas behind it

ens: We get some decent images soon. The launch is this week, stay tuned.

nageh: Yep, Launch is 22.02.2008. We will start the activity here soon, so get ready to get one, as it will be available very soon. I am really impressed of this and reviews are on the way for your reference.

Floh: This is indeed the first one and more will come, but most press will recognize it, when we launch it this week. Germany should have the Bay AMP end of this week, some will take longer.
During some days after that I plan to publish 1-2 DIY Speaker building How2s. It's not like you have to make them, but I made some and it is sure fun to play around, DIY is just exciting (at least for me). You can solder some better capacitors for a better sound, but then this is not an official recommendation! :P
The actual sound is really great for a price.

nice idea.
did you develop the speakers by yourself?

for me i have allready found the right pair (thanks to hifi-forum.de ^^) and also a carpenter who will mill saw, mill and veneer the casings for a crate of beer

and yeah, if i've got the amp maybe i'll take a look how to pimp it a little bit.

Thumbs up Scythe is a great product, not a simple computer amp!

I have buyed a KamaBay Amp in Tokyo, by a audio dealer store in Akihabara. The package is excelent, protective, and a sort of acessories is complete. I have a Sonic Impact and T10.1 digital amps, based in Tripath tecnology. Its a consolidaded sound quality, but comes with very cheap case (Sonic Impact) and no acessories (TA10.1). The KamaBay, based on Yamaha, sounds great, and realy is a best buy, complete and with a wonderfull case.

I connect KamaBay on a OPPODIGITAL 970 CD Player and on a pair of Acoustic Energy EVO1, and despite de low sensitivity of these loudspeakers, the quality of the sound is superb.

KamaBay is not a cheap computer amp. Is a true Hi-Fi amp, and must be connect to a good Hi-Fi CD player and loudspeakers to show its skills.
