Default Installation

Hey there,

Im planning to install the Samurai Master on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 Board. For this process, i have some questions:

1. What is the optimal position to install the cooler? I mean i saw some pictures where the heatpipes of the Samurai seemed to be quite close to the RAM Slots in some cases!? Because i want to use all ram slots. Or is there no other way to mount the cooler on the board?

In short, is the DS3 compatible?

2. I was wondering if there is a difference in installing the Fan the other way so the air gets blown into the heatsink or the common way, blowing air out of the element. I guess this question is only for old CPU Coolers right? since the addition of heatpipes

Thanks for all anwers

edit: After reading the pdf manual the fan should be mounted face-down

Hi incite,

1. You could mount it in different ways/directions. It depends on your case but you can follow the direction recommendation in the manual. =)

2. The common way is to blow the air through fins. If you flip it, the performance should go down pretty bad, I wouldn't do that. The fan is attached when you get the heatsink, so just mount the Cooler as it is =P

I'd say it is compatible, don't see any issues. There are only sometimes problems with capacitors but this is something we can not influence at this moment.
