Some points I may need to specify:

The heat sink covers the first RAM slot, so there is the restriction that modules with a height > 5 cm may cause problems. With my G.Skill bars, there are still about 5 mm left before one touches the heat sink's fins.

With a closed case and a room temperature of 28 °C my idle values hover around 40-41 °C. Under full load, the highest value was 49°C. And all with a fan that remained < 1000 rpm (and of course at a very low noise level, too).
As to me the most important aspect was to get as little noise as possible, I opted for using an Enermax Cluster fan (PWM controlled, 500-1200 rpm, 8-14 dba, 45,04 - 90,08 m³/h airflow). So if some background noise is not an issue, one may be able to trim down these values a couple of degrees by using the original slip stream fan that shipped with the package.
