The problem sounds like the typical lack of power for USB issue. As soon as you plug in the Cf or other card, the card reader seems to be overlaoded or to lack the power.
- How did you connect the Card reader?
- Did you try to connect it to other USB Ports or directly to the motherbaord via HeaderPin?
- What kind of CF is it? Some CF need 500mA, which this card reader can support, but if the Mobos does not give this amount, the card might not work.
- Did you try other cards? (because of the 500mA issue)
