Hi Chris,

Sorry for my late response too! I was not able to check the details of the problem.

But yesterday I reinstalled a boxed cooler (from a box of the AMD 4850e with 45W). Those are the results:

- without any cooler in the BIOS the CPU temp goes up quickly to ~65°C, then I switched off but I measured at the surface of the heat spreader the temperature and it was hot (seems that the BIOS shows the right temp)

- after mounting the cooler I started Windows and check the idle temp: ~32°C

- then I tried to stress the CPU with prim95 and stopped the fan at the boxed cooler; temp goes slowly up to ~80°C

- the same test with running the (noisy) fan at the AMD boxed cooler during the prim95 torture never goes over 50°C (compare with my Zipang: more than 100°C)

At summary it seems that the Zipang is not working properly :-(

So you mean we have to change the Zipang? I it would be possible I want to change my Zipang not against a new Zipang but against a new Shuriken because the Zipang looks a little bit too large inside the case (to install the terrible boxed was more easy than with the Zipang).

Please let me know how to handle this case.

Thanks again for your big help!

Best Regards

Pete
