The Zipang has about the same shape of heatpipe configuration as the Shuriken has, but I've heard many a critique on that test, since it hasn't been tested more than once to rule out reseating and reapplying of TIM as being a factor on this temperature drop.

About the push pins though, that test looks like a waste of motherboard
I just had a personal issue with them pins so I decided to make my own screw-on setup

Here at Xbit they found a 2 degrees lower temp on the Zipang with the pipes mounted vertically:

Though I think that's mainly because of the exhaust fan being able to suck "through" the then horizontally oriented fins...
