Ended up shelling out for a new system, having glued the old socket into place I couldn't remove it without damaging the motherboard... and I couldn't get hold of a replacement...

Anyways, I'm now the proud owner of an Intel E8200 on a Gigabyte X38 DS4 motherboard

The ninja fits well, although the heatpipes on one side are touching the big northbridge/mosfit cooler... not sure if this is going to transfer a lot of heat onto this or not??

Also, I'm not getting the best temperatures in the world to say that this 45nm chip should be pushing out about 40w less heat than my A64 chip!

Although I think that may be to do with the thermal compound I used (accidently bought Arctic Silver Ceramique instead of Arctic Silver 5!), so I will reseat the heatsink again once I receive the IC Diamond 7 Carat paste I ordered

I heard the push pin 775 socket that you get with the ninja doesn't put enough pressure on the socket is this true? It certainly felt as though it was as it was hard to push the last pin in place! I'll have to re-evaluate that once I see my temps with a better thermal compound!
