Yes that is what I was talking about. I can not say how accurate and how many steps you will have with your mobo, but it will control 3-Pin by raising or decreasing the voltage. I assume that you will have at least 5V, 7V and 12V as control. This means the most decent voltage will be 7-12v for your PC and the fan might shut down sometimes. Please do not wonder if the fan does not start after a couple minutes. The sensor needs to reach a special temperature to give more voltage, so it is safe.
